- 2 tbsp palm sugar
- Salt, to taste

- 10 shallots
- 5 cloves garlic

- 2 inches ginger, sliced
- 2 inches galangal, sliced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot and fry the spice paste until fragrant.
- Add the beef and cook until browned.
- Add the lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, turmeric leaf (if using), and water. Bring to a boil.
